Rebecca Maidman

Knitting Arts

Learning to knit at an early age Rebecca has evolved from  knitter to artist. In 1985 she started selling her knitwear at Art Shows. Then in 2000 she began selling hand knit scarves at the Truckee and Tahoe City Farmers Markets. She continues to display her expanded line of accessories there and also can be seen at many of the local Art Shows.

ARTISTIC PROCESS -Searching out the variety of Wool and Yarn available on the world market dictates the type of wearable art Rebecca will create. Alpaca, Cashmere, Marino Wool and Silk are just some of the fibers used with varying stitches and patterns to make the feel of her work a pleasure to the touch.

VISION/INSPIRATION - Rebecca knits to create beautiful wearable art that people will enjoy as much as she enjoys creating her accessory line. Shawls, Ponchos, Scarves, Hats, Neck Warmers, gloves are some of what you will find at Mountain Arts Collective.
