Ron Miley
Metalsmith

Lake Tahoe has always been very special to me.  I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, I ski at Tahoe and was married to my beautiful wife at Lake Tahoe.  The beauty of Lake Tahoe inspires me to create some of my pieces.

I truly enjoy making and designing jewelry by hand. Metalsmithing pieces from silver and gold is very rewarding. I pride myself in the quality and craftsmanship of my pieces.  I often use the "lost-wax casting" process which is a lost art in itself. Jewelry casting is a process of making jewelry pieces from a wax model. The wax is melted away to leave a hollow chamber in the middle of the casting material, ready to receive the liquid metal alloy which has been heated to 1650 degrees! This technique has been used for thousands of years!

It is such a gift to do what you love!
